General Questions

We are open from 9am to 5pm, but we offer a 24-hour emergency service. Our emergency number for out of hours service is +353 86 813 6969.

The cost is determined by language, word count, document type (e.g. technical, law etc.) and time frame allocated i.e. whether urgent or normal priority

We take into consideration if the text has a high percentage of repetitions and may be able to give a further discount on that bases. The rate of repetitions is obtained from source text by running it through a language analysis application.

In most cases, quotes are given instantly. In some cases quotes can take longer (e.g. format or complexity of document), but we aim to get a quote to you within 24 hours.

Our translators and proofreaders are qualified natives and usually work at a rate of approximately 2,000 to 3,000 words per day for translation and 4,000 words per day for proofreading; depending and on the complexity of the source text, we can assign as many translators as needed, depending on the urgency and your deadline.

We would however recommend that sufficient time is afforded so that one translator is assigned to each language for better consistency in style, this would then be inspected for accuracy.

Yes, however a surcharge may apply for priority translations.

We usually supply translations in Word, HTML, PDF and certified hard copies; this does not affect the quoted rates. For “multi-byte” or “Complex Script” languages (e.g. Asian languages) we supply them in Unicode XML UTF-8 (Hex, Dec).

We provide both consecutive and simultaneous interpreting. We also provide sign language interpreting.

In simultaneous interpreting, an interpreter renders spoken language into the target language at the same time as the person speaks the spoken language. It is in effect, “real-time” interpreting. In onsecutive interpreting, the interpreter renders the spoken language into the target language after the speaker has finished talking. It is in effect, “segmented” or “divided” interpreting. Simultaneous translating is considered to be the harder of the two and usually involves two interpreters, possibly in a sound booth, and special equipment.

Interpreting involves renders spoken language into the target language, either in real-time (simultaneous translating), or after the speaker has finished (consecutive interpreting).
